1. Agreement to Terms & Apple's Standard EULA

If you obtain PasteZero through the Mac App Store, your use is also subject to Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Standard EULA"):

These Terms supplement and do not override the Standard EULA.

2. What PasteZero Does

PasteZero is a local macOS clipboard manager and deterministic text cleaner. It removes common traces and formatting patterns left by AI tools, without rewriting meaning, summarizing, or contacting a remote AI service.

• Clipboard history: monitors the macOS general pasteboard for new copies, stores each text item with two views, Original (exactly as copied) and AI cleaned (your enabled rules applied). Selecting an item pastes the cleaned version by default; the original remains available for inspection or recovery.
• Feed Zero a File: drag a supported text-bearing document onto our Dog Dock icon. PasteZero extracts readable text, applies the same cleaning pipeline, and writes a separate cleaned copy. The original file is never modified.
• History supports search, keyboard navigation, pinning, deletion, and clearing. Cleaning runs fully offline on your Mac.

You agree to use PasteZero only as described and in compliance with all applicable laws and Apple macOS guidelines.

3. License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment where applicable, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use PasteZero on Macs you own or control, for your own personal or internal business use.

• One license = one Mac. If you use multiple Macs, you need a license for each unless the offer explicitly states otherwise.
• You may not distribute, sublicense, rent, lease, or make PasteZero available over a network where it could be used by multiple devices at the same time without a separate license.
• You may not copy, modify, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of PasteZero, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by law.

4. What Cleaning Does (and Does Not Do)

The cleaner is deterministic and operates only on text characters. It does not use a remote AI model and does not rewrite meaning.

Each rule can be enabled or disabled in Settings. Clipboard and file cleaning use the same active settings.

• PasteZero is not an AI detector and does not claim with certainty that any text was written by a person or AI; it simply removes configured artifacts wherever they occur.
• It does not summarize, fact-check, improve, or change voice or grammar beyond the rules above.

You are responsible for reviewing cleaned text before sharing or publishing it.

5. Your Content, You Own It, You Control It

You retain ownership of all text and documents you copy, paste, or drop onto PasteZero ("Your Content").

• All clipboard and file processing happens locally on your Mac. We do not receive, store, or see Your Content.
• You grant us no license to Your Content, except where you voluntarily send us text by email for support.
• You are solely responsible for ensuring Your Content is lawful, that you have the right to handle it, and how you use the original vs. cleaned version.
• If you do not want PasteZero to handle certain content, pause clipboard monitoring or avoid copying/dropping that content, nothing is processed without an action originating from you.

6. Purchase, License & Updates

PasteZero is offered as a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Current offer displayed on pastezero.com and in the app at time of purchase:

Pricing and inclusions are shown at checkout before you pay. We may change pricing for future purchases, but a price change never affects a license you already bought. Updates after the included period may require a separate purchase, renewal, or upgrade if offered.

Delivery and license validation are handled by RevenueCat, the merchant of record shown at checkout. There is no license key: after paying you receive an activation link that connects your purchase to PasteZero on your Mac. Activation links can be used once and expire after 60 minutes; if yours expires, a fresh one is emailed to you automatically. Keep your receipt email, it is how we re-issue activation links.

7. Payments & Refunds

• Payments are processed by the third-party merchant of record (Apple, Stripe, RevenueCat). We do not store your payment card details.
• Tax / VAT is calculated and collected by the merchant where required.
• 30-day guarantee: if you are not satisfied with PasteZero, contact us within 30 days of purchase at contact@aravitystudios.com with your order ID and we will help you request a refund through the merchant that processed your order. For Mac App Store purchases, refunds are handled directly by Apple, contact Apple Support.
• After 30 days, refunds are not possible but we will still help with technical issues where possible.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use PasteZero to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation, or infringe the rights of others
• Process or distribute content that is unlawful, harmful, or that you do not have the right to handle
• Interfere with or disrupt PasteZero, its security, or any system it runs on
• Distribute malware or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any service
• Use PasteZero to misrepresent AI-generated content as human-verified facts without review, or to evade academic, legal, or publishing rules that apply to you

We reserve the right to refuse support or revoke a license if we reasonably believe you have violated this section.

9. Fair Use & Technical Limits

PasteZero is built for normal individual use on your own Mac.

• You agree not to use automated scripts, bots, or modified clients to access or exploit PasteZero outside its normal interface.
• You agree not to bypass license validation, share a single-Mac license across many users, or resell licenses without permission.
• Because cleaning is local and deterministic, there are no cloud quotas, but we may publish reasonable technical limits in-app (for example maximum file size or number of history items) to keep the app responsive.

10. Intellectual Property

PasteZero, including its name, logo (Zero the dog), user interface, cleaning engine, and documentation, is owned by Andre Aing / Aravity Studios and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Your Content remains yours. These Terms do not grant you any ownership interest in PasteZero or any trademark.

11. Third-Party Services

PasteZero is intentionally minimal in dependencies. The Mac app itself does not embed third-party analytics, remote AI, or tracking SDKs. External services are involved only when you choose to interact with them:

• Merchant of record / payment provider: processes purchase, delivery, tax, and receipts
• macOS system services: general pasteboard, file system, and macOS Accessibility for automatic paste (optional, if you grant permission)
• Website analytics (landing site only, if enabled): aggregate page views/referrers, not clipboard or file contents

Those services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their availability or actions.

12. Permissions

• Clipboard / Pasteboard: required to detect new copies and prepare the cleaned version. You can pause monitoring or clear history at any time.
• Accessibility (optional): required for automatic paste into the frontmost app. If not granted, you can still manually copy from history, PasteZero will explain how to enable it in System Settings.
• File access: required to read files you drop onto Zero and write the cleaned copy. PasteZero never scans your disk on its own and never overwrites originals.

You can revoke any permission at any time in System Settings. Revoking may limit related features but does not require you to uninstall.

13. Disclaimer of Warranty

PasteZero is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that PasteZero will be error-free, that cleaning will be perfect for every document, or that it will meet all of your requirements.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Andre Aing / Aravity Studios be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of or inability to use PasteZero, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of certain liabilities, so some of the above may not apply to you.

15. Privacy

PasteZero is 100% local clipboard and document contents never leave your Mac and are never sent to a remote AI service. Please review our Privacy Policy which is incorporated by reference into these Terms and explains the minimal data handling (no account required, no tracking in the Mac app, local history only).

16. Termination

These Terms remain effective while you use PasteZero. You may terminate them at any time by uninstalling PasteZero and ceasing to use it (and deleting any remaining cleaned copies if you wish). We may suspend or terminate your license if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, bypassed license validation, or used PasteZero in a way that harms others or violates law.

Upon termination, your license to use PasteZero ends. Sections that by their nature should survive (IP, disclaimers, limitations, refunds for prior purchases) will survive.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to PasteZero, pricing, or legal requirements. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top. For material changes we will update pastezero.com and, where appropriate, note the change in the app. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
